Bulldogs boys fall to Huskies, 73-63

— The MCHS boys basketball team mounted a late surge but was unable to top Battle Mountain, falling 73-63 at home.

Freshmen Paul Laliberte scored nine points in the fourth quarter and four in the third quarter.

The MCHS boys trailed Battle Mountain, 56-40, after three quarters. At halftime, MCHS was behind, 39-22. At the end of the first, the boys trailed, 21-12.

Moffat County opened league play with dramatic wins against Eagle Valley on Friday.

For the girls (4-6 overall, 2-0 in the Western Slope League) senior Lindsey Yoast scored six of her nine points in the fourth quarter to overtake the Devils.

The boys (3-7 overall, 1-1 in the WSL) were led by junior Dylon Camilletti and his 24 points.

Battle Mountain’s girls team (0-10 overall) lost Friday night to Steamboat Springs High School.

Battle Mountain’s boys team (5-3 overall) also fell to the Sailors, 55-43.
