Craig The public is invited to attend the annual avalanche safety training day, sponsored by Colorado State Parks and the Northwest Colorado Snowmobile Club of Craig.
The training will at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Freeman Trailhead, north of Craig.
Visitors should bring beacons, poles, shovels and their snowmobiles. Ron DeLacross, of Colorado State Parks, will provide instruction.
The class will teach participants how to read potential avalanche snow conditions, use a beacon to find victims and pole and shovel rescue.

An organizational meeting for all 1980 Moffat County High School graduates is at 7 p.m. today at the Holiday Inn of Craig.

Trap Club winter league starts soon
The Craig Trap Club is now accepting registrations for its winter Polar Bear League, open to anyone with a shotgun.
The Trap Club is two miles west of Craig on U.S. Highway 40.

Parenting classes beginning soon
Nurturing Parenting classes will begin this month. Space is limited.
The classes run from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays from Jan. 19 to April 13 in the boardroom at the Moffat County School District administrative building, 775 Yampa Ave.
The program provides separate classes for children and parents.
The school district and Moffat County Social Services fund the class, so it is free to residents.
