Weight loss challenge

Michelle Balleck’s first project as online content producer launched Monday on www.craigdailypress.com. Follow her journey as she begins her diet and weight-loss program to reach her goal weight. Find her blog and weight-loss tips at www.craigdailypress.com/weblogs/michelle-balleck/.

Former Craig Daily Press reporter, photographer and editor Michelle Balleck has returned to the newspaper.

Balleck started Monday as the online content producer.

“I am so pleased to be back at the Daily Press in a new and exciting position,” Balleck said. “When I first joined the Daily Press in 2004, I was hired as the photographer, which was a new editorial position at the time. So I am excited to be rejoining the newsroom in another new role as the Daily Press expands and continues to grow its online presence and service to the community.”

Daily Press editor Joshua Roberts said Balleck will oversee content on www.craigdailypress.com, www.craighomefinder.com and www.explorecraig.com. “We’re looking forward to working with Michelle again and expanding the editorial team and our reach to the community,” Roberts said. “This growth in our newsroom demonstrates our commitment to readers and to serving them in the most effective and engaging ways possible.”

Balleck worked for the Daily Press for three years as a photographer, reporter, editor and special sections editor. She also worked part time for the Daily Press while serving as the Moffat County Tourism Association director until December 2009.

“This is an exciting new opportunity for me, and it marks an exciting time for the Daily Press and all of our readers,” Balleck said. “I have big plans for expanding our content, usability and interactive features, and I think the readers will really see some major improvements as we move forward.”

Balleck would like to hear ideas for the Daily Press’ Web site.
