- Behind a superior post presence, the Moffat County High School girls varsity basketball team was able to outlast the Eagle Valley Devils, 52-40, on Friday night. Coach Craig Mortensen said the Bulldogs inside combination of Lauren Roberts, Lindsey Yoast and Annie Sadvar was able to guide the Bulldogs to a win.

- The Moffat County High School boys varsity basketball team picked up a 65-57 win Friday night against Eagle Valley to close out the regular season. The win gives the Bulldogs a 6-17 overall record, and a record of 4-10 in the Western Slope League.

- Lou Wyman’s dedication to community and its history did not go unnoticed. At Friday’s State of the County event, Wyman was named the Craig Daily Press/KRAI Citizen of the Year. Al Shepherd, a longtime friend of Wyman’s, presented the award at the end of the evening.

- There were former soccer players and freshmen football players. There were aspiring thespians, writers and politicians. A computer lab at Moffat County High School housed an amalgam of students Thursday afternoon, from jocks to bookworms, who had all come together for speech and debate team practice.

- With 10 seconds remaining in a crucial state match, Moffat County High School’s Charlie Griffiths was ready to wrestle. Unfortunately, his opponent wouldn’t let him. Griffiths fell, 5-2, in the semifinals of the state wrestling championship after his opponent, Fort Morgan’s Brandon Hoffman, ran around the ring as seconds slipped off the clock.
