The Moffat County High School girls varsity basketball team will play at 6 p.m. tonight in Eagle Valley. The Bulldogs (10-12 overall, 8-5 in the Western Slope League) are coming off Tuesday’s 43-29 win over Steamboat Springs. A win tonight could seal MCHS’ state playoff bid.

T-Lane Mazzola, Chad Terry and Treyben Letlow won quarterfinal matches this morning, earning places in the evening’s semifinal round. Two Tigers wrestlers were knocked from the championship bracket and two ended their tournament runs.

The 103-pounder won her match this morning in the consolation bracket at the tournament in Denver, becoming the first girl to win a match at state. She proceeded to win her second match and wrestles again Saturday morning.

He was there for what he hopes to do. “It just rips your heart out to think that some of these people won’t get a chance,” he said. “This stuff just eats you up. Their portraits kept an eye on me in every classroom I entered at my elementary school.
