Craig briefs: State of the County open to the public

The Craig Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting, the State of the County, is open to the public and starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13.

Officials will present State of the Chamber, State of the County, State of the City and State of the State addresses.

In addition to the speeches, awards will be presented to the Small and Large Businesses of the Year, Businessperson of the Year and Citizen of the Year. The Chamber also will recognize its Ambassador of the Year.

Tickets for dinner are $40 and can be purchased at the Chamber, 360 E. Victory Way. Free seating is available for those who do not wish to purchase dinner. RSVP to 824-5689 or office@craig-chamber.com.

Cowbelles open to new members

The Moffat County Cowbelles are scheduled to host their monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. today at Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave.

All women interested in promoting agriculture are invited to attend. Regular meetings take place the third Thursday of every month.

Church hosts Friday Father Daughter Ball

Fathers and daughters in the community are invited to attend the third annual Father Daughter Ball from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at Craig Christian Church, 960 W. Victory Way.

The evening includes dancing, crafts, dessert and a movie room. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased in advance at the church office or at the door.

Coat distribution is twice a week

Love INC distributed more than 525 coats, from October through December 2009.

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church/Lutheran Church of Grace, 657 Green St., is hosting the distribution through March.

Coats will be available from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. every Thursday and Friday for anyone who needs one. Coats are limited to one per person. Parents may pick up a coat for a child.
