Craig Briefs: Sweetheart Dance held Friday evening

The Yampa Valley Chorus of Sweet Adelines International hosts the Sweetheart Dance from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion, 640 E. Victory Way.

The dance includes dance contests, a best-tasting salsa contest and prizes. Prizes include gondola rides, gift certificates, sleigh rides, an hour of DJ services and a whitewater rafting trip.

The cost to attend the dance is $8 a person or $14 for a couple. Everyone is welcome. Children younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.



Library hosting Chamber mixer

The Craig Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors are scheduled to host a business after-hours mixer from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Craig branch of the Moffat County Libraries, 570 Green St.

There will be food, drinks and door prizes. Charleah Firestone, a Celtic harpist, will provide entertainment. Author Claudia Hall Christian will sign copies of her new book, “Learning to Stand.”

Book club to hear ‘Infidel’ review

The Craig Book Club is scheduled to meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. today at The Lutheran Church of Grace, 657 Green St.

Bonnie Thompson will review Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s memoir, “Infidel.” Audrey Kling is hosting the meeting. For more information, call Kling at 824-3590.

St. Michael to host Mardi Gras party

A Mardi Gras party is scheduled to take place from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 678 School St.

The event will include dinner, music, dancing, a costume contest, door prizes, casino games and karaoke.

Child care is available.

Tickets are $15 for adults or $20 at the door, and $10 for children. Tickets are available at the church office, after Mass and at KS Kreations and Studio 7. For more information, call 824-5330.
