MCHS girls basketball wins during weekend

Having individuals stand out is one thing, but having a whole team effort was what Moffat County High School girls varsity basketball coach Craig Mort­ensen wanted. On Saturday, his team delivered. The Bulldogs topped Palisade, 47-26, at home, to give them two straight league wins for the weekend.

For Jordan Wilson and the Moffat County High School boys varsity basketball team, one change made a big difference. Playing Saturday against Palisade at MCHS, Moffat County could do little wrong in snapping its 8-game losing streak. The reason behind the 72-52 win was simple, Wilson said.
HVAC system to save MCHS 20 percent of energy

In the summer and fall, Haselden Construction worked to install a $650,000 HVAC system in Moffat County High School, complete with new boilers, to help control temperatures in the building. According to a report by the engineering company that designed it, the system also is calculated to save 20 percent of energy costs if it is running efficiently.
