Sports Briefs: Mardi Gras tournament this weekend

The Craig Puck Ewes women’s hockey team will be hosting its annual Mardi Gras Tournament starting Friday at the Moffat County Ice Arena, 600 S. Ranney St.

The Puck Ewes will play at 8:30 p.m. Friday, 11:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.

Basketball officials needed for games

Craig Parks and Recreation is looking for officials for kindergarten through second-grade basketball games.

Officials must be 14 and older, and the deadline to register is Feb. 12.

Coed volleyball to be offered in the spring

Craig Parks and Recreation will be offering spring coed volleyball with registration starting today.

There will be two leagues offered — competitive and semi-competitive.

Competitive teams will play Mondays, and semi-competitive teams will play either Tuesday or Thursday.

There is a $125 fee for teams or $10 per individual.

Meeting about spring sports held Monday

Moffat County High School will host the spring sports parent meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in the MCHS auditorium, 900 Finley Lane.

The meeting will cover expectations, eligibility, sportsmanship and other topics.

If a student is planning on playing baseball, girls golf, boys swimming or track and field, his or her parents are urged to attend.
