The baby weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 19 ½ inches long. Grandparents are Brad and Debbie Winder, of Craig; Bill and Terry Ross, of Mack; and Christina Thompson, of Price, Utah. The baby was welcomed home by a sibling, Alana Winder.
- Melissa and Robert Winn, of Rangely, announce the birth of their son, William Boyd Winn, at 4:32 p.m. Jan. 20, 2010 at Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs. The baby weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 ¾ inches long. Grandparents are Julie and David Dickey, of Belton, Mo.; Jody and Chuck Trujillo, of Battlement Mesa; Ron and Deanna Makowski, of Longview, Texas; and George and Marine Winn, of Rifle. The baby was welcomed home by a sibling, Emma Winn.

Grandparents are Pamela Wallace, of Rock Springs, Wyo.; Bill and Peggy Wallace, of Big Timber, Mont.; and Skip and Bev Kostur, of Craig. Great-grandparents are Jean McClaskey, of Grand Junction; Betty Doolin, of Hayden; and Bob and Judy Kostur, of Craig.

- At its Tuesday meeting, the Moffat County Commission: • Approved, 3-0, a $2,200 contract with Soilogic, Inc. for the Swinging Bridge rehab project. The Hayden-based company will observe the excavation of three test pits in the area of the existing anchor blocks to test for moisture content, plasticity and fine content. Bedrock core samples will be tested for compressive strength. Soilogic will then make recommendations to the commission concerning rock anchor design and installation.

- The city of Steamboat Springs collected about $3.2 million less in sales tax revenues in 2009 than it did in 2008, but the decrease falls within expectations and will not require reserve spending, a finance official said Monday.

- After claiming its first national title Jan. 23 at the Beehive Brawl in Utah, the Craig Bad Dogs youth wrestling team kept up its dominance. Wrestling Jan. 30 at the Fruita Mat Cat Tournament, 28 Bad Dogs earned 30 total medals.
