Colorado Northwestern Community College’s Craig campus, 50 College Dr., will be hosting a Community Appreciation Barbecue from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The barbecue is CNCC’s way of saying thanks to the community for its ongoing support of the community college.
The event is open to the public.
MCHS announces homecoming dates
Moffat County homecoming activities will take place Sept. 27 through Oct. 2, according to a news release from Moffat County High School.
The 2010 homecoming theme is “Bulldog Luau.”
The homecoming parade is scheduled for Oct. 1.
Community members are encouraged to participate.
Parade entry forms may be picked up in the first-floor office at MCHS.
The fee is $25 for school floats and $30 for non-school floats. Entry forms must be turned into the first-floor office by Sept. 28.

The Craig Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors are having a business after-hours mixer from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. The Colorado Workforce Center and Country Living Real Estate are hosting the event.

Open house slated for new students
Moffat County High School is having an open house for freshmen and new students this week.
The event is scheduled for 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the high school, 900 Finley Lane. Students may pick up class schedules, locker assignments and find their classrooms during the open house.
Parents of freshmen are encouraged to attend a brief presentation in the school’s auditorium from 5:30 to 6 p.m. the same evening.
Church collecting phone books
First Congregational United Church of Christ, 630 Green St., is serving as a collection point for old phone books to be recycled until Sept. 3.
The phone books can be dropped off anytime in the boxes near the church’s front door.
