Moffat County High School is having an open house for freshmen and new students this week.
The event is scheduled for 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the high school, 900 Finley Lane. Students may pick up class schedules, locker assignments and find their classrooms during the open house.
Parents of freshmen are encouraged to attend a brief presentation in the school’s auditorium from 5:30 to 6 p.m. the same evening.
AARP picnic set for noon today
Craig AARP Chapter 1418 will host a picnic at noon today at Craig City Park. Members attending are asked to take their own table service, beverages and a side dish to share. Guests are welcome.
The chapter is providing meat. If there is rain Monday, the event will be moved to the Craig Fire Station.

Bonfuls blood drive set for Tuesday
Bonfils Blood Center hosts a community blood drive from 12:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave.
Each donor will receive a free beach towel as a token of thanks.

CNCC to host BBQ on Wednesday
Colorado Northwestern Community College’s Craig campus, 50 College Dr., will be hosting a Community Appreciation Barbecue from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The barbecue is CNCC’s way of saying thanks to the community for its ongoing support of the community college.
The event is open to the public.
