The family of Sarah Fleming has established a memorial fund at Yampa Valley Bank, 435 Mack Lane in Craig.

Fleming, 22, died Saturday in a vehicle crash in Madison County, Mont. She was a 2006 Moffat County High School graduate.

The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the memorial account.

Donations can be made in person or mailed to the bank.

Orientation slated for substitutes

The Moffat County School District is hosting an orientation for all interested substitute teachers for the 2010-11 school year.

The meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. today in the board room at the district administration building, 775 Yampa Ave.

New school hosting open house today

Calvary Baptist School, 1050 Yampa Ave., is hosting an open house from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today.

The event is open to parents interested in enrolling children in kindergarten through third grade this fall.

Newspaper taking supply donations

The Craig Daily Press is accepting donations for Love INC’s school supply drive through Sept. 3.

Project School Supply is a program that collects school supplies and new backpacks for underprivileged children in the area.

Those who are willing to donate to the program can either collect items on the donation list, available at the Daily Press, and deliver it to one of the drop-off locations, or can donate $25 to provide one child with his or her needed supplies.

Those who want to donate can deliver materials to the Daily Press, 466 Yampa Ave.; Love INC, 656 School St.; Walgreens Drug Store, 750 W. Victory Way; or Wal-Mart Supercenter, 2000 W. Victory Way.
