Craig man crashes dirt bike into car

A 19-year-old Craig man will likely be cited by the Craig Police Department for his role in a Thursday night crash at the intersection of Sixth and Rose streets.

Cpl. Travis Young reported that Ethan Robinson was driving a dirt bike east on Sixth Street. He ran a stop sign at the intersection at Rose Street, and collided with an Oldsmobile sedan driven by Jessica Gantz, 27, of Craig, Young said.

The bike struck the right rear corner of the Oldsmobile, spinning the car 180 degrees, Young said.

Both residents were transported to The Memorial Hospital in Craig for treatment of minor injuries.

The crash was reported at 7:28 p.m. Thursday and occurred a block west of the Craig swimming pool.

Robinson was the driver at fault in the accident and the dirt bike he was driving wasn’t street legal, Young said.

Robinson hadn’t been cited as of Friday night, but Young said he will be ticketed for disregarding a traffic control device and no proof of insurance.

Other responding agencies included the hospital’s EMS and Craig Fire/Rescue.
