To the editor:
Recently, the Craig water department had a water main break in the 800 block of School Street. I am writing this letter to let all the residents who live on this block, gave us a helping hand or had a kind word for my distribution crew, that my staff and I appreciate it.
A person on this street took time out of their day to block the road with their personal truck until we could get on-site to repair the water break.
A couple of nice women went door to door letting residents know that the water would be shut off soon, and to draw some water to use until repairs were completed.
Many came by to give my staff a kind word of thanks for the job they were doing. This water main break, like many we have, came at a bad time of the day. People were coming home from work, and just wanted to get a shower, or start supper and relax, but no one complained.
They were very considerate and understanding.
It is always nice to see a group of people exhibit this type of kindness, and I am glad we have them here in Craig.
In closing, let me give you all a well-deserved thank you from me and my staff.
Mark Sollenberger
City of Craig Water & Wastewater director
