Comments are frequently made about improving the community’s appearance, and for this week’s business column, I want to point out a couple of things that have caught my eye.

First of all, the City of Craig has done a wonderful job with the grassy area on the 400 block of Lincoln Street.

As residents and visitors alike drive by that location, I am sure they will be impressed with the nice green grass that replaces the vegetation that existed there before.

I look forward to some sort of access to that area in the future.

Flint Personnel Services undergoing ‘facelift’

Nancy Doane, owner of Flint Personnel Services in downtown Craig, said it was time for a change, and she went about making one at her business.

“It was time to give the building a facelift and provide a professional look to the professional services that we provide,” Doane said.

Doane’s son-in-law, Matthew Moretz, of Denver, and Think Green Painting Company performed the improvement of the building’s appearance.

Flint Personnel serves as a temporary employment agency, offering temporary services for office, administrative, industrial, and short- and long-term assignments.

The business is fully insured and bonded.

To reach Flint, call 824-8822 or visit the business at 469 Yampa Ave.

Improvements at Craig Sports and Roto Rooter

A complete facelift, new paint, new roof and a brand new cement parking lot have been installed at the home of Craig Sports and Roto Rooter on the corner of Ranney Street and West Victory Way.

“I have always liked the building on the corner and I thought it needed to be taken care of,” said Joe Herod, owner of Craig Sports and Roto Rooter manager.

Craig Sports is a sports store specializing in hunting supplies and equipment, while Roto Rooter offers plumbing services such as drain repair or maintenance.

The businesses can be reached at 826-4044 or 824-8305.
