Communities at Work: Bringing food to the table
This edition of Communities at Work gives a glimpse into the daily work routine of some community members who help bring food to your table. The City Market deli and bakery department organizes, prepares, packages and offers many elements of the food pyramid that can provide customers with a balanced diet. The deli offers hot and cold food ready for a quick lunch, as well as a variety of meats and cheeses ready to go into your refrigerator. The deli also accepts orders to help cater to customers. The bakery complements the deli by producing 60 to 80 French bread loafs a day, along with multi-grain, sour dough, rye and wheat breads, among others. The bakery also serves the community’s sweet tooth by making cakes, pies and other sweets along with 800 cookies a day.
