No ruling on assault suspect's bond

James Lee continues to be held in Moffat County Jail on $50,000 bond after a status conference Tuesday between attorneys in the case and Judge Sandra Gardner.

Lee, 31, is charged in Moffat County Court with first-degree assault, a Class 2 felony; two counts of second-degree assault, first-degree burglary and second-degree burglary, all Class 3 felonies; and third-degree assault of an at-risk person, a Class 6 felony.

The 14th Judicial District Attorney's Office added the latter charge Tuesday.

Lee has been in custody at Moffat County Jail on $50,000 bond since his arrest Aug. 30.

His public defender, Sheryl Uhlmann, filed for a reduced bond earlier this month but said Tuesday that she did not want to argue her motion that day.

She plans to argue for lower bond during Lee's preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. Nov. 3, when the defendant is scheduled to make his first in-court appearance.

Lee was arrested at the home of Sharon and David Salman, located in the 400 block of West Sixth Street.

Craig Police Department officers responded to the home after Sharon called 911 and said a man was at her front door demanding to be let in.

Sharon told police that Lee assaulted her husband, according to an arrest affidavit filed in the case.

The affidavit does not mention alcohol or drugs being involved in the incident.
