Dear Annie: My nephew “Ken” is 29 years old, a high-school graduate and still lives at home with his mother — along with his pit bull that his mother reluctantly takes care of. Ken periodically works as a carpenter and has racked up a lot of debt. He is also an alcoholic.

Craig City Councilor Gene Bilodeau organized a meeting during the past few weeks after public concern arose regarding a local builder’s plan to relocate a development at the old Country Mall site to property and instead build in Moffat County partly because city requirements to build new curbs and sidewalks made it too expensive to build.

President Barack Obama’s education-themed speech didn’t seem to hit home with many of the students in Joy Tegtman’s third-period criminology class at Moffat County High School.

After viewing the recorded speech during Wednesday’s class, Tegtman asked her students to share their opinions about the speech, which focused on the importance of education.

Red handbags and accessories; leggings (especially in denim with zippers at the ankles); long and chunky cozy knits; motorcycle-inspired jackets; leopard prints; metallic shoes; jackets with “emphasized but refined” shoulders; “statement” jewelry; studs, buckles or zippers on shoes and bags; and “major” (as opposed to “little”) black dresses with stand-up collars, cut-out details or big skirts.

Tim Piccirillo had all of Moffat County High School laughing as he bounced down the aisle and toward the stage Wedneday in the auditorium.

Piccirillo is a motivational speaker who travels the country talking to students and teachers about understanding their potential and setting goals to stay on track in life.
