Dear Annie: My nephew “Ken” is 29 years old, a high-school graduate and still lives at home with his mother — along with his pit bull that his mother reluctantly takes care of. Ken periodically works as a carpenter and has racked up a lot of debt. He is also an alcoholic.

President Barack Obama’s education-themed speech didn’t seem to hit home with many of the students in Joy Tegtman’s third-period criminology class at Moffat County High School.

After viewing the recorded speech during Wednesday’s class, Tegtman asked her students to share their opinions about the speech, which focused on the importance of education.

In a rodeo that featured both Moffat County High School and Craig Middle School cowboys and cowgirls, both schools were able to compete.

Moffat County High School golf coach Ken Harjes is realistic with his expectations, but he was ecstatic with Wednesday’s results.

Auditions for the Moffat County High School fall musical, “Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” are from 4:30 to 9 p.m. today and Friday in the MCHS auditorium.

The Craig City Council approved a no-bid contract at its Tuesday meeting after city staff said the project needed to be completed before winter.

Tim Piccirillo had all of Moffat County High School laughing as he bounced down the aisle and toward the stage Wedneday in the auditorium.

Piccirillo is a motivational speaker who travels the country talking to students and teachers about understanding their potential and setting goals to stay on track in life.
