5 to 9 p.m. Local residents invite the community to be part of Quilt for the Cure, which creates homemade quilts to be given to cancer patients through Yampa Valley Medical Center. The group will meet in the basement of the Moffat County Extension Office, 539 Barclay St. Pizza will be provided. People do not need to know how to quilt or sew. 6 to 7 p.m. Open lap swimming takes place at the Moffat County High School swimming pool, 900 Finley Lane. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students. Punch and season passes are available. Call 826-6557.

7 to 9 p.m. Celebrate Recovery meets at 1150 W. Ninth St. The group is designed to help people overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups. Child care is provided, and late-comers are welcome. Call 824-5926.

Saturday, Oct. 31

9:30 a.m. The Page Turners book club will meet at Serendipity to discuss the "Little House on the Prairie" series by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Coffee will be provided. The meal is Dutch style. Everyone is welcome who has ever read one of the books in the series.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A dedication for The Memorial Hospital's new facility is off County Road 7 west of Craig. After the ceremony, hospital staff will offer tours. This will be the only chance the public has to see the building before the hospital opens to patients Nov. 11. For more information call 826-3100.
