— Despite a short practice schedule, the Bad Dogs Youth Wrestling team was able to put a strong performance together Saturday in Edwards.

The Bad Dogs were well-conditioned wrestling in the Wolf Pack tournament, coach Rodney Klimper said.

"Our kids looked amazing," he said. "A lot of the other teams looked out of shape, but our kids didn't."

Even with only two weeks of practice, the Bad Dogs appeared to be in mid-season form, Klimper said.

"Most of them wrestled all three matches," he said. "At the end, they didn't look tired at all. We're really proud of them."

Thomas Baker, Mikey Bingham, Daniel Caddy, Shandon Hadley, Kaden Hafey, Colton Hall, Kaden Hixson, Mikinzie Klimper and Elias Peroulis all picked up first place finishes.

Cody Baker, Gregory Hixson, Ashlee Griffiths, Dajia Lewis, Luke Pleasant and Jake Shelton all added pins.

The Bad Dogs will resume their season Saturday in Denver during the Monster Match Nationals, which is the first national meet of the season.

Having his team in good condition bodes well for the rest of the season, Klimper said.

"They've only been practicing for two weeks, but there are a lot of all-around athletes," he said. "I don't think a lot of the kids just sat around and played video games."
