Craig briefs: Support group is set to meet Monday

The first meeting of a new peer support group for people with bipolar disorder and depression is scheduled from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Gold Room at the Northwest Colorado Community Health Center, 745 Russell St. For more information, call Barb Parnell at 871-7655.
Elkhead Reservoir releases new hours
Since Oct. 1, Elkhead Reservoir will be open weekends only, staff and weather permitting.
The reservoir will be closed to boating for the season Oct. 25. The park will remain open for hunting, fishing and hiking only.
If there are any questions, call Yampa River State Park office at 276-2061.
Auction to raise money for students
An auction Saturday at the OP Bar & Grill will benefit Cory Pike, a 2007 Moffat County High School graduate and a Colorado State University student. Pike was diagnosed June 10 with Burkitt's lymphoma.
The auction starts at 1 p.m. Local businesses have donated some "great items," auction organizers reported in a news release, and there also will be a raffle drawing during the event.
Donations are being accepted.

Crabfest tickets now are being sold
Crabfest 2009, an event sponsored and hosted by the Craig Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Oct. 24 at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40.
The event includes a "generous" serving of king crab legs, red potatoes, corn on the cob and herb and cheese biscuits, followed by a "mouth-watering dessert" buffet, the Chamber reported in a news release.
R&R Catering is preparing the dinner. There also will be a cash bar, and a live and silent auction. To top off the night, comedian Troy Baxley will perform.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner is served at 7 p.m. Entertainment begins at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $50 each. Tables of eight cost $350 and tables of 10 are $450. Each table receives a complimentary bottle of wine.
