An auction Oct. 17 at the OP Bar & Grill will benefit Cory Pike, a 2007 Moffat County High School graduate and a Colorado State University student. Pike was diagnosed June 10 with Burkitt's lymphoma.
The auction starts at 1 p.m. Local businesses have donated some "great items," auction organizers reported in a news release, and there also will be a raffle drawing during the event.

Law officials seek burglary information
Law enforcement officials are seeking information about a burglary that occurred roughly three weeks ago, between Sept. 19 and Sept. 20 at a home on West Victory Way.
A small safe was removed from the home and forced open in a nearby field, where a .357 handgun was taken.
Law enforcement believes there were several people near the home during the time of the burglary who may have knowledge of the crime.
Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 824-3535. Callers may remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward.
Oct. 19 meeting set for support group

Girls hoops team hosting fundraiser
The Moffat County High School girls basketball team will host a tailgate barbecue meal at the high school, 900 Finley Lane, for the community before today's homecoming football game.
The menu consists of barbecue ribs, sides and a drink.
The cost is $10 per plate. Proceeds benefit the basketball team.
The team will begin serving at 5 p.m. Food will be served until game time or until food runs out.
