YVEA: Saturday power outage caused by birds

Residents and businesses in Craig were in the dark Saturday afternoon when a power outage wiped out electricity east and north of town.
Traffic lights along Yampa Avenue also were affected.
Yampa Valley Electric Association spokesman Jim Chappell said the outage occurred around 1:30 p.m. when birds somehow got into two regulators at a nearby substation.
He said crews worked to get the birds out and restored power within two hours.
