Bell ringers needed for kettle drive
The Craig Service Unit of the Salvation Army will host its annual holiday kettle drive beginning Friday and continuing each weekend through Dec. 24.
Volunteers are needed to ring the bells for the kettles that will be located at Wal-Mart and City Market.
Funds raised during the kettle campaign stay in Moffat County and are used as emergency support for county residents. The need in 2009 already surpassed has that of last year and funds are dwindling rapidly, the Craig Service Unit reported in a news release.
Residents interested in more information about the program should attend the Craig AARP Chapter No. 1418 meeting at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St.
Shannan Koucherik and Luann Kline, directors of the Salvation Army Bell Ringer volunteers, plan to make a presentation.
To sign up as a bell ringer or with a group, or to make a donation, call Kline at First Baptist Church at 824-5926.
For more information about the AARP meeting, call chapter president Beverly Chapman at 824-5123.
