Sports briefs: Weekend club hockey schedule

Craig Starting at 7:15 p.m. Friday, there will be a hockey tournament featuring the Moffat County Bulldogs club hockey varsity and junior varsity teams.
The first game is 7:15 p.m. when Rock Springs, Wyo., and Kremmling face off.
At 8:45 p.m., Moffat County’s JV team will play Cheyenne, Wyo.
At 1 p.m. Saturday, Moffat County’s varsity squad will play Rock Springs, and at 4:30 p.m., Cheyenne will play Kremmling.
At 6 p.m., Moffat County’s JV team will play Rock Springs, and will face Kremmling at 7:30 p.m.
Cheyenne will play Rock Springs at 9 p.m. Saturday.
At 1 p.m. Sunday, Cheyenne will play Moffat County’s varsity team, and at 4:30 p.m., the JV team will close out the weekend with a game against Kremmling.
All games are played at the Moffat County Ice Arena, 600 S. Ranney St.
Lifeguard training deadline is Dec. 2
Anyone interested in becoming a lifeguard must take a certification class.
Participants must be at least 15 and pass a swim test.
Classes will be during Christmas break, and interested participants need to call the aquatics office at 826-2017.
The deadline to register will be Dec. 2, and the swim test is at 7 p.m. Dec. 2.
The cost to register is $75.
Men’s pick-up basketball offered
Craig Parks and Recreation is offering pick-up basketball games for men 15 and older.
The gym will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays until Jan. 28 at Craig Middle School, 915 Yampa Ave.
The cost is $2, with punch passes available through Craig Parks and Recreation.
No preregistration is required, and individual passes can be purchased at the door.

Ice arena open for public saking
Moffat County Ice Arena, 600 S. Ranney St., is open for public skating.
The arena is open from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. Fridays through Sundays.
The cost is $3.50 per individual and $3 to rent skates.
