Craig briefs: Chamber seminar to advise businesses

The Craig Chamber of Commerce is hosting a seminar, “Business Survival in Tough Economic Times,” next week.

The seminar is an “information-packed session designed by experts to help you evaluate your business and learn ways to survive in tough economic times,” the Chamber reported in a news release.

The event is scheduled from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13. The cost is $5 per person for Chamber members and $10 per person for nonmembers.

The fee includes the session, coffee or juice and a continental breakfast.

Library announces upcoming closures

The Moffat County Library announced upcoming dates that the library will be closed. Those dates are Nov. 26 through 29, and Dec. 8.

Concert Association hosts Simon & Son

 Simon & Son, Amer­ica’s only father/son piano duo, will play at the Moffat County High School auditorium, at 7:30 p.m. Friday as part of the 2009-10 concert series.

The Simon & Son duo includes the youngest performer ever in Carnegie Hall. Internationally acclaimed pianist/humorist Peter Simon is joined by fellow pianist and son, Saling Simon, “in a delightful evening of classical and popular music interspersed with humorous stories and fun for all ages,” the sponsoring Craig Concert Association reported in a news release.

“With a repertoire ranging from Cole Porter to Wipeout, Simon & Son shatter classical music’s pretensions with a dash of humor spicing up the Schubert,” the Concert Association reported.

Tickets are $20 at the door; or the last of the season memberships still are available. They cost is $30 for adults and $10 for students.
