The Moffat County Commission has three workshops within the next few weeks that cover several community issues.
The first is at 9 a.m. Monday, when the commissioners will discuss the status of the American Legion Post 62 headquarters building in Craig with Gar Williams, Colorado American Legion commander.
The Legion currently rents the building from the county.
The commissioners then will meet at 1 p.m. that day with George Rohrich, The Memorial Hospital chief executive officer, and County Attorney Kathleen Taylor to discuss issues with the hospital's medical office building at 651 Yampa Ave.
They will discuss a complaint filed with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration by a physician who leased the space.
These two meetings will be held in the basement floor conference room of the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 W. Victory Way.
At 1 p.m. June 15, the commissioners plan to attend a meeting organized by election supervisor Lila Herod to discuss only taking mail-in ballots in this year's fall election.
Representatives from other county offices, the city, local political parties, Moffat County School District, Independent Life Center, Craig Fire/Rescue and the U.S. Post Office will join the discussion. This meeting will be held in the main floor conference room of the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 W. Victory Way.
Herod said other counties, including Routt and Rio Blanco, plan to go to a strictly mail-in ballot and claim they can save at least 30 percent of their election costs.
She added Moffat County has done one all mail-in ballot election in its history in 1993 and that there was a good response.
Herod also said she doesn't think Moffat County could save as much as other counties because it only uses one vote center, whereas others have multiple.
The public is welcome to attend all workshops.

Library to hold reading programs at fairgrounds
Beginning June 4 and running through July 29, the Moffat County Libraries story-times will be at 11 a.m. at the Moffat County Fairgrounds covered picnic area.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a lunch, sunscreen and hat. In the case of inclement weather, call the library before 10:30 a.m. to learn whether story-time has been canceled.
Moffat County to carry out online bid system
Moffat County is implementing an online bid system. The new bid system will allow registered vendors to receive electronic notification of all Moffat County bids.
All interested vendors will need to register at the following Web site: www.publicpurchase.com/gems/moffatco,co/buyer/public/home.
Registering is a two-step process that may take one or two days. County officials ask that vendors be registered by June 30.
After you register with Public Purchase, you will receive a conformation e-mail with instructions for registering with Moffat County.
Please be sure and pick all of your company's classifications codes, as this is how your company is matched with the active bids.
If you have questions, call Moffat County administration at 970-824-9140. The new bid system will be active July 1.
