Emily Gilchrist, of Craig, graduated from Hastings College on May 16, 2009, at the college's 123rd commencement ceremonies.

Gilchrist graduated with high distinction and received a Bachelor of Arts in theatre arts. High distinction is awarded to seniors who have earned a 3.85 to 4.0 grade point average in their major area of study.

Hastings College, founded in 1882, is a private, four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). A total of 64 majors in 32 areas of study and 12 pre-professional programs are offered to more than 1150 students.
