New school name: Sandrock Elementary
The Moffat County School Board unanimously approved Thursday night the name suggested by the most kindergarten through sixth-grade students for the district's new elementary school.
The board voted, 7-0, to approve calling the new elementary school Sandrock Elementary. The name was one of five that elementary students district-wide voted for during an election last week.
The totals of the students' vote is listed below:
• Sandrock Elementary - 320 votes
• Bears Ears Elementary - 251 votes
• William E. Adams Elementary - 237 votes
• Creekside Elementary - 235 votes
• Rosesdale Elementary - 162 votes
