Craig briefs: Sheriff's Office golf tournament is June 6

The Moffat County Sheriff's Office will be hosting the Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament for the 22nd year June 6 at Yampa Valley Golf Course. The shotgun start is at 7:30 a.m.

The tournament is played in a four-person team scramble format. There also will be a chipping pond, longest drive and closest to the pin contests. The tournament fee is $40 per player or $160 per team.

Funds raised from the tournament go to Moffat County High School students to continue their education. The tournament has raised more than $60,000 to date.

Anyone interested in playing should call Rick Holford at 826-2308. Entry forms can be picked up at the golf course or the Sheriff's Office.

Field photography class is June 6 and 7 at MCHS

The Vermillion Chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society is hosting a class about archaeological field photography June 6 and 7 at Moffat County High School.

The course is part of the Program for Avocation Archaeological Certification and will cover the role and responsibilities of photography in archaeological research and basic elements of photography.
