CNCC celebrates end of school year

The Center of Craig was full May 8 as students, their families and Colorado Northwestern Community College staff celebrated the achievements of Craig campus students.
Previously scheduled to take place at Moffat County High School, the event was relocated due to fire damage to the high school auditorium.
Gene Bilodeau, CNCC vice president of administration, and John Boyd, CNCC president, provided opening remarks.
Katherine Carlomagno, Craig Outstanding Sophomore, and Sheila Harper, Craig Campus Faculty-of-the-Year, were speakers.
Marilyn Hehr, nursing program director, presented the nursing scholarships.
The Albin Salton Memorial Scholarship, in the amount of $1,800, was awarded to Joan Hillewaert. Jesse Moon was the second-year nursing student recipient of the $4,500 National Western Scholarship.
The following students were selected as outstanding: Brooke Behrman - dual enrollment; freshman Joanne Webster, and sophomore Katherine Carlomagno.
Students awarded the Who's Who designation included: Kirby Anderson, Mary Dean Balleck, Jacqueline Cabrera, Katherine Carlomagno, Emma Casterson, Deborah Conner, Katie Haskins, Joan Hillewaert, Jessica Hogue, Holly Ivers, Erin Lueck, Stanley A. Magas, Patricia Maradiegue, Tanyse Moya, Trentin Moya and Dixie Poley.
New inductees to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society: Clair Adkins, Dylan Dulmaine, Alisha Hansen, Holly Ivers, Daniel Miller, Cindy Mosciaro, Amy Nicodemus, Taylor Reed, Amber Roach, Cari Robinson, Camela Slaight, Shirley Vasque, and Laura Wiskeman.
Students recognized for completing their General Equivalency Diplomas: Lynn Belleville, Jordan Brown, Stephanie Conway, Stefani Crabtree, Jordan Cruickshank, Amber Duncan, Timberli Evans, David Hickson, Chelsea Holmberg, Alec McIntyre, Tausha Merwin, Cody Pacheco, Ashley Pacot, Clayton Pearce, Kyle Proctor, Rhonda Reichen, Johnathan Sergel, Tiffani Spencer, Kevin Spoor, Angela Vialpando, Elroy Webb, David Wooden, and Jason York.

CNCC Commencement also took place May 9 for the school's Rangely Campus.
Boyd introduced graduation speakers: John Simms, chairman of the Rangely College District Board; Ray DuBois, chairman of the Moffat County Affiliated Junior College Board; and Danna Green, Outstanding Sophomore Student for the Rangely Campus.
Additional speakers were Outstanding Faculty-of-the Year winners Sheila Harper, of Craig, and Mark Patterson, of Rangely.
Cliff Richardson, Colorado Community College System vice president of finance and administration, presided over the Authorization of Candidates for Graduation, and Boyd carried out the Presentation of Graduates and Conferring of Degrees.
CNCC alumni Ryan Dean played the bagpipes and led the processional and recessional.
