Joel and Joanne Petre, along with their family of seven children, own and operate Sunny Breeze Farm, southwest of Craig.

The Petre family moved to Craig in 2003 and decided in 2005, after reading about milking sheep, to begin a sheep's milk operation.

Although the now 4-year-old business has presented challenges to the family, they enjoy what they are doing.

In 2006, they decided to start producing cheese from the goat's milk, and in 2007, they brought in the equipment to make the cheese on site.

Sunny Breeze Farm has contracts with two distributors that are selling their products to retail locations, mostly on the Front Range and at an outlet in Steamboat Springs.

The family will be participating in five farmers markets this summer, in Evergreen, Carbondale, Aspen, Steamboat Springs and Frisco.

Call them at 824-5881 or visit them online at www.sunnybreezefarm.com.

Century Shree Co. announced that Ken A. Millikin has been appointed the new general manager of Hampton Inn & Suites in Craig.

Millikin has been living in Craig now for about two months.

As general manager, Millikin will direct all areas of the hotel's operations, including guest services, sales, marketing and hotel administration.

The 89-room and suite hotel, according to a news release, will have amenities that include a 24-hour front desk and business center, heated indoor pool and spa, fitness center, two meeting rooms, executive board room, outdoor event space, stone fireplace and flat screen TV in the lobby.

Guestrooms will be equipped with an ironing board and iron, hairdryer, coffeemaker, cloud nine beds, curved shower rods and two telephones. In addition to a wet bar, studio suites will have a microwave, refrigerator and sofa bed.

For more information, call Millikin at 629-2387.
