Craig briefs: Grand Olde West Days set for May 23 to 25

The 19th Annual Grand Olde West Days celebration is scheduled to take place May 23 to 25 - Memorial Day weekend - in Craig.

A GOWD event organizers are promoting in advance is the Lane Frost Challenge, a bull riding competition scheduled for 7 p.m. May 23 at the Moffat County Fairgrounds.
VIP tickets are $40 and includes a meal, drinks and a spot in a special seating section.
Tickets are available at the Craig Chamber of Commerce, 360 E. Victory Way, and Murdoch's Ranch & Home Supply, 2355 W. Victory Way.

Annual Friends of the Library meeting May 26
The Friends of the Library annual meeting is set for noon May 26 at the Craig branch of the Moffat County Libraries, 570 Green St.
The Friends of the Library reported that it would like to have as many members as possible attend the meeting. The group will use the meeting as a chance to revisit the vision of the Friends group, possibly change meeting dates and times to accommodate members and vote a new vice president into office.
If anyone cannot make the meeting, they are encouraged to drop off written views and suggestions at the Craig branch until May 26.
Church hosting Italian dinner fundraiser
St. Michael Catholic Church will host a fundraiser later this month, with proceeds benefiting a summer youth missing trip.
"A Taste of Italy" spaghetti dinner takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. May 17 at the church, 678 School St. Suggested donations are $11 for adults and $9 for children 3 to 12 years old.

Date announced for first Farmers Market
The first Farmers Market of the year is scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. June 18 at Alice Pleasant Park in downtown Craig.
The market features regionally homegrown and handmade products for sale.
