Have you ever had a dream that you were afraid to tell someone about?
Were you afraid of what they would say or who they would tell your dream to?
Maybe, you were afraid they would laugh at your dream and tell you there is no way that it would ever come true.
I'll bet we all have had dreams or goals that we have let pass by because of fear of what others thought.
I am reminded of Joseph today.
You see, God gave him two dreams that would change his life forever (See Genesis 37). Joseph was only 17 years old when he told his brothers about his dreams.
His brothers grew angry and so mad that they began to plan a plot to kill him. The first dream God gave Joseph was that his sheaf of wheat would stand upright and his brothers' sheaves stood around his sheaf making obeisance to his sheaf.
The second dream was that the sun and moon and 11 stars made obeisance to him.
If you don't know what obeisance means, it means to bow down, to stoop down or to worship.
Stay with me, I promise I am going somewhere with this article. God gave Joseph a dream and his brothers sold him into slavery. He went to prison and was lied upon.
This wasn't in the dream. God never told him about slavery or prison two times, or brothers lying to their father about what happened to him.
His dream was his brothers were going to bow to him and the sun, moon and 11 stars.
What was going on?
If God would have told Joseph what was going to happen to him, he might not have chased his dream. So, He only gave him the ending of the story.
His brothers ended up coming and needing his help, bowing themselves to him, if you will.
I want to tell you today that your destiny is greater than your circumstance.
Joseph's destiny made his journey worth it all. No matter how hard it gets. No matter what comes your way, God has given you a destiny, and if you choose it, it will make it worth every long mile.
It doesn't matter what happened yesterday, you can't change it. But you do have the power to change tomorrow
Philippians 3:13 says, "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before."
If you feel like you don't have a destiny or a goal for your life, I challenge you to pray and seek for it.
Our ultimate destiny is Heaven, but I do have some goals while I am here on Earth.
Do not let anyone take away your dream or goals. Remember, your destiny is greater than your circumstance.
