To the editor:

I would like to comment on the offer by the Moffat County School Board and Pete Bergmann to create a memorial park for Maj. William Adams and other local veterans who lost their lives.

The School Board passed up its best opportunity to honor Maj. Adams. The board's latest action seems more like doing damage control than honoring veterans. I believe they should now step aside and let the local group of veterans design and build the memorial.
