Hayden The Hayden Town Board unanimously agreed to reach a settlement with Robinson Construction concerning faults in the Lake Village subdivision, but Town Manager Russ Martin said there still is work to be done to finalize the deal.
"This is about a 90 percent deal; it's not the full enchilada," he said after the Thursday night meeting. The Town Board meeting stretched until 11:30 p.m. and included a closed-door session to discuss the settlement.
Martin said the deal would include a punch list of about 60 items that would have to be completed by a future owner of the project.
"That would be left for a future owner to do, and until those things would be done, the project still would not be able to get building permits and certificates of occupancies without those being done down the road," he said.
The subdivision off Routt County Road 53 in southern Hayden has been tangled in liens and legal problems since 2007. Robinson Construction, which isn't affiliated with RN Robinson & Son of Hayden, was responsible for the neighborhood's infrastructure work that is in need of repair or replacement. The work left to be done includes things "as simple as a curb stop" and as big as sections of sewer lines that need to be completely replaced, Martin said.
Martin said a copy of the town's settlement agreement with Robinson Construction was not available Friday but will be available Monday.
Also Thursday, the Town Board gave the go-ahead to the farmers market. Organizer Suzanne Banning said she hopes to have the market start as soon as June 19. Trustees told Banning that it will be a tight timeframe to get all the required permits, especially a liquor license Banning said she would like vendors to have. Banning said she would begin work today to meet the timelines.
"We see this as a community event that would draw out the community to socialize," she said. "It's also a (source of) revenue for different groups and organizations: 4-H, school clubs and the booster club have contacted me that they would like a booth to raise funds."
