- Guadalupe Ochoa and Ivan Badacni, of Craig, announce the birth of their son, Ivan Guillermo Badacni Ochoa, at 5:59 p.m. May 16, 2009, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig. The baby weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces and was 18 1/2 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Guadalupe Badilla and Manuel Ochoa, both of Mexico. Paternal grandparents are Beatris Badacni and Guillermo Badacni, both of Mexico.
- Shasta K. and Cody R. Clark, of Craig, announce the birth of their daughter, Ashton Teya Clark, at 2:02 p.m. June 5, 2009 at Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs. The baby weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces and was 21 3/4 inches long. Grandparents are Gary Barney, Rae Barney, Steve Richins and Terri Richins, all of Vernal, Utah. The baby was welcomed home by siblings Casey and Gavin.

- Thomas Lee Johnson’s defense attorney told a Larimer County jury Thursday morning that her client indeed killed Lori Bases in her Steamboat Springs home in May 2000 but that he did not plan the attack. Johnson was convicted in Bases’ stabbing death in 2001, but the Colorado Court of Appeals overturned the conviction in 2006.
