Veterans Hotline: Local vet organizing statue for Adams

photo

Ed Wilkinson

This being my first "hotline," I am hoping to continue with the fine service that Bill Harding has done in the past years.

The Moffat County Commissioners met with officers of the American Legion to update the status of the legion hall at Shadow Mountain.

Larry Neu, with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, is spearheading a drive to erect a statue to William E. Adams, a helicopter pilot from Craig who was awarded the Medal of Honor for heroism.

Adams was shot down while trying to rescue U.S. soldiers in Vietnam.

Anyone wishing to support this endeavor can contact Larry.

I will continue to update information as it comes in.
