The Craig Daily Press has hired a new education and health care reporter, the newspaper announced Wednesday afternoon. Nicole Inglis, 23, a Rochester, N.Y., native, begins work at the newspaper today.

This is in response to Wednesday’s editorial. I am definitely not disappointed in how the school district handled the naming of Sandrock Elementary. The idea to take the schoolchildren’s opinion into consideration was a wonderful idea, and the kids got to see that their vote mattered.
Sports briefs: Annual Sheriff’s Scramble golf event is Saturday

The annual Sheriff’s Scramble golf tournament will begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Yampa Valley Golf Course. The tournament is a fundraiser for the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office scholarship fund.

When my mom and dad built what is still my mother’s home, they put in “his” and “hers” bathrooms. At the time Dad died last March, my parents had been married 53 years. I know now that separate bathrooms had a lot to do with their marital longevity.

After growing up on a 3,000-acre ranch near San Luis, with more than 500 head of cattle, Bill Shue said he wanted a smaller ranch. By smaller, he meant everything. Including the cows.
MCHS rodeo team to travel to Lamar for state

For Dave Fleming, Moffat County High School rodeo coach, his last regular season rodeo trip went relatively smooth. Except for the snow. Fleming said it was 88 degrees in Craig when the team left last week, and 93 degrees in Las Animas when they arrived for the last meet of the year.
