The Craig Police Department is asking for the public's help with an investigation into an alleged Sunday morning assault, police said in a news release Monday morning.

Between 3:30 and 4 a.m. Sunday, an adult female reported that she was assaulted on Yampa Avenue, near Craig Middle School. The female reported to police than an unknown male physically assaulted her as she was walking south in the 1000 block of Yampa Avenue.

She suffered minor injuries, police said.

"At the time this occurred, the female reported that a small red car slowed down, and the occupants may have witnessed this incident," police said in the news release.

Deaf social planned for 11 a.m. Saturday

A deaf social is planned for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday behind Calvary Baptist Church, 1050 Yampa Ave.

The event includes a barbecue, skits and a deaf guest speaker, Christopher Harvey, of Broken Arrow, Okla.

The social is for everyone who is deaf, hard of hearing or anyone who has an interest in learning sign language. After the social, all are invited to Elkhead Reservoir for free fishing with no license required. Take fishing poles and bait.

Class of 1979 plans school reunion for July

The Moffat County High School Class of 1979 is planning its reunion for July 17 and 18.

There will be a get-together on the evening of July 17 and a barbecue on the afternoon of July 18 for the classmates. In the evening July 18, there will be a band at the ice rink, to which all classmates from the mid-1970s to mid-1980s are invited.
