- Stacy Perry and Brandon Perry, of Savery, Wyo., announce the birth of their son, Kash Wells Perry, at 10:21 p.m. July 20, 2009, at Yampa Valley Medical Center. The baby weighed 10 pounds, 4 ounces and was 22.25 inches long. Grandparents are Kraig and Marsha Perry, of Craig; and Bob and Christy Stocks, of Savery, Wyo.
- Danielle Runnion and Bryan Runnion, of Parshall, announce the birth of their son, Colter William Runnion, at 7:33 p.m. July 19, 2009, at Yampa Valley Medical Center. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19.25 inches long. Grandparents are Particia Monnia, of New York; Beverly Rave, of Colorado; and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Monnia, of Arizona.

I’ve been involved in fairs for many, many years - as an exhibitor, Fair Board member, superintendent, mother of exhibitors and even a judge. So, I’ve always known what young people gain from completing 4-H and FFA projects. After all, I was a 4-H member, too.But, this past weekend I had a chance to sit back and observe some terrific young people at work and to reflect on what I saw. It wasn’t too long after the Flying-Pickle Friends left that we got more company. Our friend from South Dakota came down and brought his 8-year-old grandson, Seth, with him. Seth is just, well, there isn’t any other words to describe him, he is a little cutie.
