Craig The Grand Encampment Museum, 807 Barnett Ave., in Encampment, Wyo., is hosting a Grand Encampment Cowboy Gathering from July 17 to 19 and a Living History Day on July 18 and 19.
During the events, the museum will be celebrating the year 1949, and invites anyone who remembers that year, has cars from that year, or was born that year to join the celebration.
Among the various activities, there will be storytellers, re-enactments, demonstrations and a book signing July 18. Among the authors expected to participate are Dick Perue, Starley Talbott, Terry Del Bene and Dawn Senior-Trask.
Regular museum tours will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 18. Admission to the museum is free.

Children can fish for free on July 15
Kids ages 8 and older can enjoy a day of fishing at Freeman Reservoir, north of Craig, on July 15.
Those interested must pay a $10 fee and register by today. Worms will be provided, but participants are asked to bring their own fishing poles and sunscreen. Lunch also will be provided.

Pet Mates Calendar voting Thursday
The Humane Society of Moffat County will host public voting for the 2010 Pet Mates Calendar contest during the Downtown Business Association's Farmers Market, scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Alice Pleasant Park.
The voting is open to the public. Votes are made by donating to selected pets.

Registration ongoing for diving classes
Craig Parks and Recreation now is taking registration for springboard diving classes.
The course is open to youths ages 12 to 17 and will be meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Craig Swimming Pool Complex, 605 Washington St.
