As of July 12, the Denver Newspaper Agency no longer will provide the Denver Post Sunday edition free to Craig Daily Press subscribers.

Amy Fontenot, Daily Press circulation manager, said the Denver Newspaper Agency group made its decision based on costs.

Although the paper no longer will be free, all Moffat County residents will enjoy a reduced rate for Sunday editions of $39 a year, down from the edition's regular rack price of $2 an issue, or $104 a year.

Sunday edition subscriptions also come with electronic editions of the Denver Post every Monday through Saturday, which are e-mailed to customers.

Current weekday Denver Post subscribers will have the Sunday edition added to their regular subscription.

Non-subscribers to the Post also will be able to order seven-day or Thursday through Sunday subscriptions, as well.

Subscribers to the Daily Press do not have to order a Denver Post subscription, if they do not want one. Current Daily Press subscriptions will continue unchanged, regardless of any change to Denver Post deliveries.

The Denver Newspaper Agency plans to mail a letter to all Post and Daily Press subscribers in the near future that details all options available for continued service.

Fontenot said the Craig area is fortunate to have Denver Post delivery.

"They are committed to continuing service here," she said. "Other places won't have that. They're not going to go to Grand Junction at all."

Fontenot added that the Newspaper Agency's decision could be tough on some residents who use the paper's TV Guide.

However, she said residents can find daily TV listings on the Daily Press Web site, www.craigdailypress.com.
