A group of more than 20 seniors made their way down the Yampa River on Wednesday as part of a Craig Parks and Recreation program. The seniors piled into five boats and launched from Pebble Beach, floating along the river before landing at Loudy-Simpson Park to have lunch.

Today

4 to 7 p.m. The Downtown Business Association hosts the Farmers Market at Alice Pleasant Park in downtown Craig. Local produce and products will be for sale. Bob LaFord will provide the music. Call Kay Jennings at 620-4917.

Noon. The Little Britches Rodeo takes place at the Moffat County Fairgrounds, 640 E. Victory Way.

5:45 p.m. Craig Parks and Recreation little league baseball end of season tournament takes place at Woodbury Sports Complex.

8 p.m. An open meeting of Craig Group One Alcoholics Anonymous takes place at First Congregational Church, 630 Green St. Call Bud at 824-1793.

Friday, July 3

The Moffat County Library, 570 Green St., will be closed in observance of Independence Day.

7 a.m. Cottonwood Classic golf tournament is at Yampa Valley Golf Course.

8 a.m. The Little Britches Rodeo takes place at the Moffat County Fairgrounds, 640 E. Victory Way

9 to 11 a.m. A playgroup for toddlers and preschool-aged children will be at Loudy-Simpson Park. Call Kevin at 824-1703 or Ann at 826-2717 for more information.

5 p.m. The Elks Lodge, 43 W. Victory Way, hosts bingo. Doors open at 5 p.m. Games begin at 6:15 p.m. Call Frank at 824-6131 or 620-0874.

7 p.m. Fellowship Group of Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 419 Yampa Ave. Call 326-6646.

7 to 9 p.m. Celebrate Recovery meets at 1150 W. Ninth St. The group is designed to help people overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups. Child care is provided, and late-comers are welcome. Call 824-5926.

Saturday, July 4

7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Craig/Moffat County Airport hosts its Fourth of July celebration, including a free pancake breakfast, coffee and cake and helicopter rides. Entrance and food is free, but a spin in the helicopter is $50 a seat. Call 824-9148.

7 to 10 a.m. VFW will be retiring flags at a burning ceremony at Moffat County fairgrounds. Residents are welcome to bring their worn flags to burn.

8 a.m. The Little Britches Rodeo takes place at Moffat County Fairgrounds, 640 E. Victory Way.

10 a.m. The Craig Sea Sharks in Delta.

8:30 p.m. The Northwest Colorado Tea Party Patriots conduct a demonstration at the intersection of Finley Lane and Ninth Street, near Moffat County High School.

At sunset, the Craig Fire Rescue will present the city's annual fireworks display at Moffat County High School, 900 Finley Lane. The display should last about 45 minutes.
