Craig briefs: Masterworks bids earn tickets

A silent auction Friday for two tables to the March 6 and 7 Craig Kiwanis Club play raised $1,800 for local student scholarships and community programs.

The winning bid for both tables went to Masterworks Mechanical, which paid $900 for each table. The company will have its choice of any table inside the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion, site of the play.

The Kiwanis Club reported that there were eight different bidders for the play tickets.

Remaining play tickets go on sale at 6 p.m. Friday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post, 419 E. Victory Way. Tickets cost $15, or $180 for a 12-person table, and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

CNCC presents new medical mannequin

The Colorado Northwestern Community College nursing program hosts an open house to introduce the new SimMan Simulator from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 9 on the second floor of the school administration building, 785 Yampa Ave. Demonstrations will be given at 5:30 and 6:15 p.m.

SimMan is a computerized mannequin that can be programmed to have various symptoms, which students can assess and treat. SimMan, which breathes and talks, is more advanced than Noelle, a birthing mannequin for the obstetrics class that the college has had for about one year.

For more information about SimMan or the open house, call 824-1104.
