Craig Daily Press promotes new editor

Please join me in welcoming a new editor to the Craig Daily Press. Joshua Roberts was promoted to editor of the Craig Daily Press after serving as assistant editor since April 2006.

Josh joined the Daily Press staff after serving as a reporter for nearly five years for weekly newspapers owned by the World Company, the sister company of WorldWest Limited Liability Company, owner of the Craig Daily Press, near Lawrence, Kan.

In his new position, Josh will oversee the creation and production of all news products at the Craig Daily Press, including magazines, special sections and online products.

I believe Josh has proven to be a great writing coach and leader in his former role, and I am confident in his abilities to assist us in taking this paper to the next level of excellence in his new role.

Josh can be contacted by e-mailing editor@craigdailypress.com or by calling 970-875-1791.

Keyboards will be ablaze at craigfirerescue.org

Craig Fire Rescue has launched a new Web site, www.craigfirerescue.org.

The site offers, among other features, pages of helpful tips for parents such as a fire escape plan, smoke alarms and other useful tips to help prevent fires and to educate your children regarding fire safety. This information is available in English and Spanish. Items such as recruitment, the firefighters, the fleet, photos of fires, and much more also are available on this site.

The only thing that's changing is the name

Moffat County High School graduate and lifetime area resident Don Jones has taken over ownership of Arola and Associates, a local public accounting firm.

He has changed the company's name to Jones and Associates.

Former owner Denise Arola, who was majority owner for the past nine years when the firm opened, has decided to make a change, but she will continue on a consulting basis through the tax season.

Working with Jones at the firm is receptionist and bookkeeper Carla Alexander, and accountant Hayley Watson, who is awaiting notification of certification after passing the required tests.

In a letter sent to clients, Jones and Associates reported "the existing service will remain the same quality you have come to expect." You can contact them by stopping by their office, at 458 Yampa Ave., or by calling 970-824-2010.
