Rhonda Stehle: Keep pets on a leash
January 7, 2009
Craig To the editor:
I would like to write this letter to those people who let their pets run loose and go into other people's yards and use them as the bathrooms. I would also like to say that the people who throw their snow back in the street when they shovel their driveways and sidewalks make it dangerous to drive because the snow makes it hard to drive even at slow speed.

I've seen people throw their snow back into the street and thought that was against the “law” so to speak in Craig.

I agree with Rhonda. People with pets must learn that no one else wants your pet in their yard. And if the city and county would hand out some tickets for putting snow back onto the street, people would stop doing it.

Where are other people putting the snow then (not all of the residents have huge yards, snow blowers, 4wheelers with plows, etc.)? I must be the only one when leaving my house that has to 'gun it' so I don't get stuck in the nice plow made mountain at the end of my driveway! If someone intentionally is throwing snow out in front of moving vehicles call the cops! Otherwise I think most citizens pay attention & put the snow where they can responsibly.

Why have “snow removal” anyway when the city doesn't remove it at all? Plowing ice into driveways makes it impossible to remove it anywhere most of the time. It's legal for the city to plow it into the driveways but illegal for citizens who pay taxes (for such things like snow removal) to put it back? What sense is this? Just plow it to the center and remove it like other cities do.
