Maybe it’s because a 1-2 finish in this year’s state championships left a sour taste in his mouth.

It’s a reason to get out and ride. But, the Northwest Colorado Snowmobile Club is hoping to achieve something more this weekend, club President Stan Fox said.

It’s time to lace ‘em up. The Moffat County High School girls basketball team opens the 4A basketball state championships tonight against the visiting D’Evelyn Jaguar.

The Craig Police Department’s preliminary investigation into a fire Monday night at the Moffat County High School auditorium concluded the incident is “suspicious in nature.”

The first trickle of dollars from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Bill of 2009 hit the Colorado Department of Transportation on Feb. 19, though no Moffat County projects are on the agency’s go-ahead list.

Remember the recipe for “Strawberry Cake with Frosting” that appeared in the Feb. 6 column? Well, last Friday, while I was at the grocery store, a reader caught up with me. She had made the cake and frosting. (I didn’t make the frosting because the cake tasted pretty rich. After it cooled, however, I wished that I had frosted it.)
