Atmos Energy Corporation announced Monday three new energy efficiency programs for its natural gas customers in Colorado, the company reported in a news release.
The programs include energy audits, rebates as much as $1,000 and a residential low-income program.
The objective of the company's energy efficiency programs is to increase energy efficiency awareness and reduce natural gas consumption, which in turn saves money for consumers and benefits the environment by reducing carbon dioxide emissions, according to the news release.
"Atmos Energy cares about our customers and supports programs that improve the quality of life in the communities we serve," said Gary Schlessman, president of Atmos Energy's Colorado-Kansas Division, in the release. "We are pleased to offer these energy efficiency programs that benefit our customers through rebates and promote natural gas savings."
To maximize program efficiency, Atmos Energy teamed up with two other Colorado natural gas utilities - SourceGas and Colorado Natural Gas - on the planning, analysis and design of its efficiency programs.
This team of natural gas utilities called "Partners in Energy Savings" has adopted the "Excess is Out" slogan that embodies the objective of the energy efficiency programs, Atmos Energy reported in the news release.
"Our collaborative efforts have allowed us to offer additional program benefits to our customers," said Karen Wilkes, vice president of regulatory and public affairs of Atmos Energy's Colorado-Kansas Division, in the release.
The "Excess is Out" tagline reflects the "company's commitment to conservation efforts that are important in reducing natural gas consumption," she added.
Atmos Energy customers can obtain additional information, rebate guidelines and details about the programs by visiting Atmos Energy or by calling toll free 877-XS-IS-OUT (877-974-7688).
